I’m hosting this Prevent T2 program in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to answer all of your burning questions about how and what you should actually be eating and doing to prevent type 2 diabetes. (Hint: It’s probably not what you think.)

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM:
Without intervention, 15% to 30% of people with prediabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within 5 years. With numbers like that, it’s important to learn about prediabetes and take action now. This lifestyle program will help you lose weight, be more physically active, and reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes, heart attacks, and stroke.
During the first half of this program, you will learn:
How to get active even if you are just getting off the couch
What to eat to prevent type 2 diabetes
How to manage stress and how stress affects your risk for diabetes
How to cope with everyday triggers
Where you can find support along the way
How to shop and cook foods that will keep diabetes away
How to track your activity and your food
Strategies to burn calories
What to do when you’re traveling or have to eat away from home
Where in the world to find time for fitness
How to stay on track with your plan, because everyone slips now and then
In the second half of the program, you will enhance the skills you’ve learned so you can maintain the changes you’ve made.
Lifestyle changes are hard and that’s why this program is a year long. These sessions will review key ideas such as tracking your food and physical activity, setting goals, staying motivated, and overcoming barriers. You may learn some new information, too.

Upon registration and positive quiz result, you’ll receive immediate access to your Member Profile, Member Forum, and program prep content. When the program is in session, you’ll get access to weekly videos, handouts, tips, action items, and heart-centered vibes that will teach you everything you need to know to prevent type 2 diabetes.
Don’t worry, you can do everything at your own pace — you won’t be a slave to this program. Remember, once a member, always a member.

Who can join?
Anyone! Yes, you too! Few considerations though….Participants have to be over the age of 18 years, overweight, and have a positive test for prediabetes based on the Prediabetes Screening Quiz. If you haven’t taken the quiz yet, please do so here.
What’s the time commitment?
On average, you’ll spend about 30-90 minutes watching the videos, reading handouts and completing the weekly content for the first 6 months. After that content will be released once per month for another 6 months. You can go through the information at your own pace when it’s released each week or wait until the weekend! Either way, it’s totally up to you. The flexibility of having the program online is perfect to learn a ton and digest the information, while still fitting easily into your busy life.
What happens if I fall behind?
No worries. Since all of the content is done on your own time, with the exception of a few live calls, you can choose to go through it on a day that works better for you. Once a member, always a member, so you’ll always be able to refer back to it.
Will there be one on one time with Dr. Cooper?
There is not specifically one on one time with Dr. Cooper. She will be available to all members of her group program during program “office hours” or live calls and in the Member Forum.
Will I receive medical advice or counseling on my prescription medications or health conditions?
Dr. Cooper is available to answer general questions as posted in the Member Forum or discussed during “office hours”. For specific questions that are unique to your health and your medications, please contact your health care provider.
Can men join?
Absolutely! The more, the merrier! It can be a great program for busy couples to do together. Create more time for your health AND your significant other.
